Welcome to Mama's Milk Matters | Lactation + Postpartum Coaching

Hi! My name is Lexy Brown!

With a background in nursing, including specialized training in L&D, Postpartum and lactation, as a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor, Holistic Postpartum Health Coach and having a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, I bring a unique blend of expertise and compassion to my practice. Having worked in Labor and Delivery units, I understand the challenges and joys that come with the postpartum experience, and I am dedicated to helping mothers navigate the complexities of postpartum and breastfeeding with confidence and ease.

My journey into founding Mama’s Milk Matters began with the birth of my daughter, Emerson. Filled with awe and excitement, I embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood with an open heart. Determined to give Emmy the best start in life, I chose to embark on the beautiful yet often challenging journey of breastfeeding.

However, our journey was not without its obstacles. In those early days, Emmy and I encountered difficulties with latch and choking, causing frustration and anxiety for both of us. More difficulties arose as Emmy ended up in NICU and we were separated more than normal and I wound up with postpartum preeclampsia. After resolving both of our issues and being together again at home, I was still anxious and nervous to breastfeed. Emmy suffered with choking for months. But I refused to give up. Fueled by my unwavering love for Emmy and a deep belief in the importance of breastfeeding, I sought out support and education from lactation experts, and I immersed myself in researching techniques and strategies to overcome our challenges.

Through perseverance and dedication, Emmy and I eventually found our rhythm. Each successful feeding became a triumph, strengthening the bond between us. As Emmy flourished and grew, my passion for breastfeeding advocacy only deepened.

Inspired by my own experiences and fueled by a desire to support other mothers facing similar challenges, I made the bold decision to channel my passion into a small business dedicated to lactation coaching. Drawing from my intimate understanding of the struggles and triumphs of breastfeeding, I founded my business with a mission to empower and support mothers on their own breastfeeding journeys.

With Emmy as my constant companion and source of inspiration, I embarked on this new chapter of my life with determination and compassion. I strive to provide mothers with the knowledge, resources, and encouragement they need to navigate their breastfeeding experiences with confidence and joy.

I hope my story serves as a beacon of hope for mothers everywhere, reminding us that through love, perseverance, and support, even the most challenging journeys can lead to extraordinary growth and transformation.

Hi! I’m Lexy & I get to do what I love everyday - helping other moms on their breastfeeding journeys!
